The original assessment of the task in hand had to be reviewed a couple of times as the roof structure was not as anticipated. The company were determined to do a good job despite this. I cannot comment on the effectiveness of the new roof as it is in a rented property which I do not, currently, have access to.

They arrived at the appointment at a time that was quite late for them but good for us, shows their commitment. The work was really well done. I had 2 guys arrive early, they attached the new roof and didn’t make a sound or leave any mess. I was shocked it literally took a few hours. All the old roof was taken away for free. The roof itself before having it done was horrible. It was glass and full of bugs and always leaking. Since then, it’s cool in summer and warm in winter. Roof never leaks I have never even seen a spider in there. I am so glad we had the roof done. Literally has added so much value and before we were thinking of moving feel no need now. 10/10 would highly recommend and so glad we did it.

Why does my Victorian conservatory get so hot in summer when the windows are open?

The Victorian roof has multiple glazed facets each facing a different direction, which means the conservatory collects solar heat from several angles simultaneously through the day. Opening windows removes some of the heat that has already built up but it does not stop the roof continuing to collect it. Will fitting insulated panels change how my Victorian conservatory looks?

From outside, no change at all. Inside, the existing glazing bars stay exactly where they are, we do not box them in or add a ceiling over them. The distinctive multi-faceted internal look of the Victorian conservatory is preserved. What changes is the performance, the room finally holds a comfortable temperature rather than swinging between extremes. Glazing bars in a Victorian conservatory are part of what gives it its character. Covering them or boxing them in would change the room entirely, which is not what we do.
