Why is my glass conservatory so uncomfortable when the glass itself looks fine?

Glass on its own does very little to manage heat. It lets the sun’s energy straight through in summer, which is why the room overheats even though the glass looks perfectly sound, and it offers very little resistance to heat loss in winter. The glass can be in excellent condition and the room will still swing between too hot and too cold, because the issue is the roof’s ability to hold a stable temperature, not the condition of the panes. No, not in the vast majority of cases. Our COMFIBOARD panel system is fitted directly into your existing roof structure, so there is normally no need to strip out the frame, take down the glass, or alter the structure of the conservatory in any way. The work happens largely from inside, which keeps disruption to a minimum and avoids the cost and hassle of a full rebuild. Older frames or existing weathering issues can occasionally change exactly what is needed for your roof, which is one of the reasons we always confirm the specifics at the free survey before agreeing a price.

Will the inside of my conservatory look different after the upgrade?

From the outside, there is no change to how your conservatory looks. Inside, your existing glazing bars stay exactly where they are, we do not box them in, plaster over them or cover them with a false ceiling. The room keeps the character and layout it already has.
